What is the typical lead time for custom plaques?
Standard lead time is 2-3 weeks. This allows for wood selection, precise CNC engraving, and multiple stages of hand-finishing. Often your piece will be ready far in advance of the allowed timeframe but it's important to ensure that each piece is perfect. When necessary items must be remade which can take time. Your satisfaction is always at the forefront of our crafting.
Can you engrave specific unit patches or custom artwork?
Yes. Providing a high-quality vector or image of your unit patch allows us to create precise custom engravings. We specialize in replicating service emblems with accuracy.
How do you handle shipping for fragile wood items?
Many items are hand delivered from my shop to local units on Ft Hood. For items that require shipping we craft custom boxes and ensure we stabilize and support each piece to arrive at your doorstep in the same presentation condition that it left our shop.
Do you offer RUSH orders for upcoming retirements?
Whenever possible, we assist with rush requests depending on current workshop capacity. Please contact us directly to discuss your specific deadline.

Every custom plaque and retirement case is treated as high-value cargo. We use reinforced, dual-walled packaging and industrial-grade padding to ensure your wood honors arrive without a single scratch, regardless of the distance traveled.
Lead Times & Transit
Custom CNC work and hand-finishing take time. Standard delivery typically ranges from 2-3 weeks depending on project complexity. Once cleared for movement, you will receive a tracking number to monitor your dispatch in real-time.
Domestic & APO/FPO
We proudly ship via major carriers to all 50 states. For our brothers and sisters currently deployed, we offer optimized shipping to APO/FPO addresses to ensure your trophies of service reach you wherever duty calls.
Our Guarantee
At Dusty Soldier Crafting, we take immense pride in honoring your service. Because each piece is custom-made and permanently engraved with specific unit details and names, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges once carving has begun. We ask that you double-check all spelling and dates before finalizing your commission.
If there is a clear error in our craftsmanship or a mistake on our end regarding your requested design, we will make it right. We stand by the quality of our wood and the precision of our CNC work. If your plaque arrives damaged from transit, please contact the studio within 48 hours so we can start the replacement process.

We treat your digital privacy with the same respect as a military honor. Our site uses industry-standard encryption. Should you wish to have your order history scrubbed from our records after delivery, simply contact the shop.
Rules of Engagement
By commissioning a custom piece from Dusty Soldier Crafting, you acknowledge that you are entering into a service agreement with a veteran-owned small business. All custom orders require a non-refundable deposit to secure your place in our workshop schedule and cover initial material costs.
Quality takes time. Our lead times are estimates based on current workshop volume and the complexity of your design. We prioritize precision over speed to ensure every plaque and coin box meets the high standards of those who served. Your patience supports true American craftsmanship.
Final approval of digital proofs is required before CNC engraving begins. Dusty Soldier Crafting is not responsible for errors in text or iconography once the final proof has been signed off by the customer. We stand by our work and will address any workshop-related defects immediately.
